Action Figure Armature Kit

Armature kit for sculpting an approximately 3.75” tall, 5 points of articulation, action figure.

*Important Information*

The armature can be used with any sculpting clay, including polymer clays. Because of its size and handling while sculpting, harder clays are recommended to minimize distorting your work.

Armature wire should be cut to size using the guide included in the kit instructions.

It’s important that your original sculpt be larger than the final desired height to account for shrinkage when making copies of your clay sculpt in wax and resin. If casting in wax followed by resin, the original sculpt should be about 4% larger. If casting in resin only, the original sculpt should be about 1% larger.

*Should I get a casting kit?*

If you want to mold and cast your action figure, then yes. The casting kit come with additional pins and disks for making a complete mold of all 5 parts (head, torso, 2 arms, and 2 legs).

The kit can be used to cast resin copies with 1/8" or 3/16" diameter articulation pegs. However, casting with high viscosity resins increases the potential of catching air bubbles when venting through narrow passages like the 1/8" diameter pegs. Consider casting 3/16” pegs if you are new to casting or casting with higher viscosity resins.
